….It always starts with us, doesn’t it? Whatever we are facing or whoever we are dealing with, each and every one of us can react and guide situations in one way or another.

I am bringing this up, because wherever there is a ‘problem’ there is also a solution. It is truly up to us to discover and create. As an astrologer I look at the planetary movements, current, future and past, but I truly believe in the saying: “As above, so below. The stars in the universe out in space, and the stars in our inner universe. Our thoughts, our feelings, attitudes and how we cope with life in general. They reflect each other. So, when there are major events in the sky, We look at what is coming up in our life. Astrology is a tool to dig a bit deeper to uncover themes and old wounds, to heal and to move forward.

One event will be happening on May 19th 2023. A new Moon, and it will be in the sign of Taurus. After two new moons in the sign of Aries, this Taurus new moon will bring with it new themes and areas in your life to plant seeds and set intentions.

Before we go into this new moon theme, let’s go back to the full moon that happened on May 5th two weeks before. This full moon took place in the sign of Scorpio and came with a side of lunar eclipse. Sound ominous, doesn’t it? But really this event concluded a serious of eclipses happening on the Scorpio/Taurus axis. It won’t be until 2031 when the eclipses fall into these signs again. So, there is time to recover.

But in all seriousness. The Scorpio/ Taurus themed eclipses brought with it a sense of wanting to prioritize your needs and values (Taurus) and on the others side purging what is no longer needed through emotional release (Scorpio). Cleaning house so to speak. Attic and Basement and everything in between. Both signs are rather stubborn. And letting go can be a challenge. Or I should I say knowing what to let go of can be tricky. It is a tuck and pull and compromises have to be done.

With Scorpio the themes of Taboo, intimacy and shared resources come up. This sign is all about transforming, but to do so it often needs to tear down in order to rebuild.

While Taurus likes to pick the most stable options. It builds slow and steady. It is a very grounded sign and not usually impulsive, unless you force it to its limits. You see the dilemma?

But here is the deal. Opposing signs always work towards a common goal. They do so in very opposite ways. Finding Balance in this polarity is our souls desire. We don’t want to be too stable (Taurus) and it does not serve us to only tear down what we have built (Scorpio). There is a sweet spot somewhere in the middle. And it is very personal and unique to you.

When you think back over the last 6 month, where did you notice yourself making changes? What themes kept coming up? Where did the shoe not fit anymore?

One thing that is helpful here, is to look at where the signs of Scorpio and Taurus fall. Everyone has these signs in their chart, even if no planet is in the sign of Scorpio or Taurus. One of your 12 Houses is ruled by Scorpio, one is ruled by Taurus. Each House will show up with a different area of your life that is highlights and painted in the light of the sign that falls in it.

Let’s say it Scorpio falls in your first house and Taurus in the 7th. The themes of Individual power and power in relationships come up. How do I conduct myself. How do I feel about my personal power? How do I share it (resources, time, and myself) with my partner or the people around me?

Coming back to the full moon and the eclipses. This event magnifies themes. It brings with it situations and events that help you hone in on what needs to be looked at. It gives opportunities to work through this type of energy to grow unfold and evolve.

With the full moon we release the things no longer serving us and give thanks to what is already there and working towards our greatest good. This time gives us the opportunity to review and solidify our focus. Think of the full moon as a marker on your path. Usually, events will occur that bring up these themes that are important to you and it does so in a highly charged, way. This helps us to crystalize and clarify.

During a full moon in Scorpio we are ask to Give thanks in a scorpionic way, for our ability to constantly change and adapt. For our need to connect in a real and intimate way to ourself, to others and to life itself. For our courage to bring up things we would rather keep hidden. Uncovering with that, the power that lies within. Being Real is a superpower.

During the new moon in Taurus we get to focus on the stability in our life’s again. After going through all this tearing down and purging, I find much comfort in that. And with spring in the air it is an ideal time to do so. The new moon energy asks us to plant a seed. To check in with ourself and see where we want to put our focus. Setting intentions now allows them to grow stronger during the next weeks and possibly months.

Keeping in mind that the why is always more important than the what. Where do you need more stability and why is it important to you? Really feel into this. Allowing yourself to imagine your life in the most ideal way. With Taurus internal themes of self-worth and values come to mind.

On an earthlier level, this new moon asks us to connect with nature, with the body, with our senses. Coming to our senses and connecting with what feels good. Taurus really values the splurge. And that looks different for every person. A good meal, a long walk-in nature, a haircut, seeing your savings grow etc.

Anything that is grounding and makes you feel alive, good and grounded. Now is the time to take care of you that way.

The house that Taurus rules, as well as planets here show the area in your life that is activated and where you personally need more security.

To give you an idea, here is a short list of things associated with each house:

1st House: Image, Appearance, Self, life Force

2md House: Cash, Property, Possessions, Self-Worth, Values, Belonging

3rd House: Communications, Siblings, Neighbors

4th House: Home and Family

5th House: Romance, Kids, Creativity, Flirting

To add another level to this, look at what planets make contact with the sun and the moon. Here I find conjunctions, Squares and opposition give great insight.
